How do I know what cartridges to buy for my printer?

There are three simple options for finding the proper cartridges. 

First option is that you may type in the part number located on your cartridge in the search box on the top left corner of our website. Example, if your printer uses a HP 51645A or 45A cartridge, you would enter 51645A or 45A into the search box and click Go!. This will display the items we offer that will work for that part number. 

Second option is that you may type in your printer model number in the search box. Example, if your printer model # is HP Deskjet 550c, you would enter HP Deskjet 550c or HP 550c into the search box and click Go! Select your printer on the next screen and you will see the items that will work for that printer model #. 

Third option is that you can also look for the name of the manufacturer that makes your machine to the left navigation bar which lists all printer manufacturers’ names. Be sure to look under the heading “Others…” to see all the options. Then click on the name and you will see all the printers and the cartridges made by your selected manufacturer. You can select either the model number of your machine or you can select the part number of your cartridge. Select the proper model or part number from the list and a page will appear showing you all the products that will work with that model or part number.

What about your ink quality?

Ink quality is the most important part of refilling. The print head on your cartridge may get clogged or destroyed by the inks that do not match the OEM’s specifications. InkTec / Universal inks, which we sell, are formulated and tested under strict laboratory conditions to ensure the highest output quality at all times as compared with other OEM products.

What's the difference between OEM, Compatible and Remanufactured Cartridges? What kind of cartridges do you sell?

——> OEM Cartridges:
OEM is an abbreviation for Original Equipment Manufacturer. These manufacturers produce the replacement ink or toner for copiers or printers and normally will put the manufacturer’s name on the product, such as Canon, IBM, Sharp, Lexmark, Brother, Epson, etc. 

We do not sell OEM Cartridges.

——> Compatible Cartridges:
Generic cartridges are specially manufactured to meet or exceed OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications and high standards of quality and reliability and offer high-quality printing results. Manufactured 100% brand new, containing only new components, they are an economical alternative to expensive name-brand cartridges and supplies, and allow for big savings over brand-name cartridges and supplies. The use of Generic replacement cartridges does not void Printer Warranty, which is proven by the following US Congress New Legislation!

——> Remanufactured Cartridges:
Remanufactured cartridges have been recycled to meet or exceed OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications. The recycling and reprocessing process involves disassembling, inspecting, cleaning, replacing worn parts, reassembling, and filling the toner or ink. Once the remanufacturing process is complete, the cartridge is then print tested, sealed, and packaged for resale.

Will using your products void my printer's warranty?

No. Congress has passed laws making that illegal. If the manufacturer can force you to buy their supplies, the can overcharge you. It would be like buying a car and being told you can only put in a certain gas that costs $12.00 a gallon or they will void your warranty. It discourages competition and fairness for the consumer. Below is a copy of the law for you to see.

“(c) No warrantor of a consumer product may condition his written or implied warranty of such product on the consumer’s using, in connection with such product, any article or service (other than article or service provided without charge under the terms of the warranty) which is identified by brand, trade or corporate name; except that the prohibition of this subsection be waived by the commission if:

1) The warrantor satisfies the Commission that the warranted product will function properly only if the article or service so identified is used in connection with the warranted product, and

2) The Commission finds that such a waiver is in the public interest.”

Why isn't the last few letters of your cartridge part number matching with my cartridge part number?

We have taken utmost care to list the correct cartridges for your printer on our website. Sometimes you may find a little variation in the last few letters of the cartridge part number. The last few letters in the cartridge part number is used by the manufacturers to indicate how much ink is contained in the cartridge. Since we remanufacture our cartridges, we put the max amount of ink possible in the cartridges; therefore, most of our cartridges are high yield cartridges and will work with your printer. Secondly, we use our own part numbers for the items that we carry as well, which may be different from the manufacturer’s part number.

How do I place an order?

Simply find the product(s) that you need to order. In the quantity box to the right of the item you wish to purchase select the number you wish to purchase and click “add to cart”. Simply repeat for all items you wish to order. After adding all items you wish to purchase to your shopping cart, click on Check Out in the upper right hand corner of the page. This will take you to the page to enter your billing and shipping information. After completing that page click to check out. Your payment page will appear. Simply enter your payment information. You will see the Order details page where you may edit your details before processing your order. Click on Submit order at the bottom of the screen. This will process your order and then display your order receipt. An automatic email will also be sent to you regarding your order details. The whole process should take less than 5 minutes.

How do I place an order by Paypal?

Currently, our shopping cart does not support payments via Paypal. However, you can send us a payment from your Paypal account directly. Select the products you wish to purchase on our website and email us your order, billing, shipping and your contact details. Please verify the order total amount and include the shipping and tax amount, if any. You may then login in to your paypal account and click on “Send Money” tab. Under “Recipient’s Email:” input our Paypal Email address, “paypal@PrinterSuppliesShop.COM”. Once you complete the rest of the details, Continue to verify and send payment. Paypal will then debit your Paypal account and send a payment to our Paypal account. Once we receive the payment and your order details, we will process your order and notify you of the same via email.

How do I place an order by check?

Once you have selected the products you wish to purchase, you may mail us a check payable to Printer Supplies Shop with the order, billing, shipping and your contact details to our Corporate Address at 7251 Topanga Canyon Blvd., Suite E, Canoga Park, CA 91303. Please verify the total amount from our website and include the shipping and tax amount, if any. Once we receive your order details and your check, we will process your order and notify you of the same via email.

What is the shipping cost?

You can choose from 3 shipping methods, Ground / Priority Service (FREE for orders over $50.00), USPS First Class Service (FREE for orders over $35.00), FedEx / UPS 2nd day air. Please visit our Shipping page for more details.

When will my order arrive?

All orders are shipped within 24 hours from the time the order is placed and should arrive in 2 – 5 business days if you have selected Ground/Priority shipping option. The delivery time of your order is based on the shipping method you choose and the distance between our wareshouse in Los Angeles, CA and the shipping address. I ordered the wrong items. Now what?

Place an order for the correct items so you can have them shipped today. Then contact us for a valid RMA number so you can return for a refund or credit for the wrong items. Please visit our Returns page for more details on returning the products to us.

How do I return an item?

You will be given an RMA number for you to return the products for a refund or replacement. Please visit our Returns page for more details on returning the products to us.

I want to cancel my order. Can I?

Once an order has been placed it is hard to cancel as the order taking system is automated and we process many orders on a daily basis. You may still contact us via our toll free number or email and if your order is not processed/shipped, we may be able to cancel it. If the order is shipped to you, you will have to receive your order and obtain a RMA number from customer service in order to return it for replacement or refund as per your choice.

How do I exchange an item?

How should I handle my cartridge?

Never touch the electronic print head with any abrasive material. Use care when setting your cartridges down and do not place the print head in contact with any surface besides the printer.

How can I get dried ink out of my print head so I can print again?

Place the clogged cartridge in about 1/4 – 1/2 inch of warm water for a few minutes. When ink starts to slowly leak out take the cartridge out of the water and dry it using a soft cloth to “Q-tip.” Then place it back in your printer and run the print head cleaning utility that comes with your printer software. You may have to run this 1-2 times before printing quality is re-established.

My cartridge is printing faded and print head seams to be clogged. What can I do to make it work?

You may try priming the cartridge. Priming the cartridge is a process that allows the print head to open up for the ink to come through. What you do is get a damp paper towel, press and hold on the print head (copper strip facing down) for around 20-30 seconds. This will bring the ink to the surface of the print head, open up and print heads that might be blocked and the flow of the ink will start again. Just put the cartridge back in the printer ready to use.
